A Steal of a Deal on 60 Watt LED Light Bulbs

Cheap LED BulbsSo I normally don’t write about deals because everyone likes spending their money on different things.

However, this deal on 60 watt LED light bulbs is something everyone can get in on.

I didn’t think I would buy LED light bulbs anytime soon because they cost so much more than regular light bulbs.

Well, I’m happy to say we’ve bought six so far and might buy more soon.

Home Depot and Lowe’s Have Great Prices

Home Depot and Lowe’s have great prices on 60 watt LED light bulbs right now.

At Lowe’s you can get these Utilitech bulbsĀ for just $2.48 each and at Home Depot you can get these Phillips bulbsĀ for just $4.97 for a two pack.

We went to Lowe’s first but someone had cleaned them out of their entire stock. Home Depot did have a few packs left in stock, but they weren’t in the light bulb area where someone had cleared them out earlier in the day. Make sure to ask an associate where to find the bulbs if you can’t find any in the typical lighting section.

They Will Save You Money On Your Power Bill

By swapping out a regular light with an LED light, you’ll save 85% of the energy vs a typical 60 watt bulb. The Home Depot version only uses 8.5 watts and the Lowe’s version uses 9.5 watts.

Even 60 watts isn’t a ton of power, but the more you typically use the light bulb in question, the more money you’ll save. However, if you use the light bulbs more because they now use less energy, you won’t save as much as you would have otherwise.

The Light Looks Close To A Normal Light Bulb

While it seems impossible to match the glow of a normal incandescent light bulb, these LED lights come pretty close in my opinion. My wife and I can both tell the difference, but we like these much more than the CFL alternatives out there.

These Light Bulbs Have Limits

These light bulbs aren’t the best LED light bulbs out there for a few reasons. However, in certain situations they work great, especially for the price.

These particular bulbs cannot be dimmed. For that reason, you can only use them in fixtures that turn on and off. You probably don’t want to use them in ceiling fans, either, because the fan messes with the light bulb power much like a dimming a bulb would.

These bulbs won’t last you as long as the more expensive versions. The Home Depot bulbs only last 10,000 hours and the Lowe’s bulbs last 15,000 hours according to the packaging. Still, these bulbs will last much longer than your typical incandescent bulb or even many CFL bulbs.

At this point, we’re considering replacing every regular non-dimming light bulb in our house with these that we use for at least an hour a day. You should consider doing the same!

Would you ever switch to an LED bulb if the price was right? If so, you may want to consider these great deals. I’m not sure how long they’ll last at these prices, so I’d take advantage now if you want to get the deal.
